MacLeod Pavilion

promoting sport in the community of Dumfries

The MacLeod Pavilion

The MacLeod Pavilion was built on Kingholm Park in 2002 as the result of a joint partnership project between St Michael's Cricket Club and Dumfries YMCA, with financial grant support from Sport Scotland, the Holywood Trust and the Lendal Environmental Trust.

The two lead partner organisations nominally lease the lower Kingholm Park pitches and surrounding area from Dumfries and Galloway Council, who provide various forms of  support including some ground maintenance.

Ten years on the Pavilion acts as a home for its member sporting organisations and their affiliates, which are as follows:

  • St Michael's Cricket Club
  • Dumfries YMCA FC
  • Dumfries and Galloway Council
  • Dumfries Midweek Cricket League
Until 2014, it was also home to Dumfries Girls FC and Dumfries Ladies FC (now Queen of the South Girls FC)

A key objective of the Pavilion is to "promote and facilitate the sporting, recreational, educational, social, physical and environmental wellbeing of the inhabitants of Dumfries and area".  As a result, the facilities at the Kingholm are open for hire by any local organisation wishing to use them for those purposes.
